Welcome to the summer edition of Accelerating News!
In this edition, we look at the potential of plasma-based acceleration, report on the innovative work of a Ukrainian laboratory under the shadow of war, and cast our eye back to the huge particle accelerator conference, IPAC, that took place in France this May.
We also find out more about an exciting new high-temperature superconducting magnet that could be used in CERN's proposed Future Circular Collider, and speak to the coordinator of the recently launched EPITA project about how it will take groundbreaking accelerator technologies to the next stage of development.
In other news, the CERN Council agreed in May on an update to the European Strategy for Particle Physics. One of the stand-out recommendations in the strategy is to set the electron-positron Future Circular Collider (FCC-ee) as the preferred option for the next flagship project at CERN. You can read CERN's announcement in full here.
